First ear infection

Late last Sunday Isabelle took us on a trip to the ER to learn that she had her first (hopefully last) ear infection. She was in allot of pain, but still looked pretty darn cute in her hospital robe. The antibiotic she is on is giving her a nasty diaper rash, so we are soaking her in bum a few times a day, she likes her little "hot tub". On sunday we visited my office for a Christmas party and Isabelle was eager to get to work and make some phone calls. Merry Christmas!

new tricks

Isabelle seems to be learning new tricks every day. This week she started standing up holding onto our ottoman, she she cant stand too long, but is getting better at it. Isabelle also got a walker so now sits in her little chair and scoots all over the place, her first chance at mobility and she loves it. She tried feeding herself carrots, boy was that messy. She also started drinking some juice out of a sippy cup...all of this in one week! I cant imagine what next week will bring.

Hangin out with her toys...

"drinking" from a sippy cup (most of the juice is on her shirt)

Getting a head start unwrapping (eating) presents under the tree

Enjoying her new "scooter"

Thanksgiving, making a mess and other cute pics

Isabelle is doing great. She is now 6 months old and weighs 19 lbs and 12 ounces (she's "big"). She is still working on her first tooth and we all hope it pops out SOON. She had a great first Thanksgiving. She even got to help celebrate her cousin Kaylee's second birthday (see below). Isabelle is really starting to like eating solid food, but as you can see, sometimes it doesnt go so well...very messy (see below).

getting big

Isabelle is almost sixth months old! She is really starting to get her own personality. She is sitting up really good and seems to get frustrated that she cant move around as much as she would like. She has done a little "scooting" but only backwards. Pretty soon she will figure out how to get up and get going. She started laughing at the dog the other day, it was the cutest laugh ever. We dont hear that much, hopefully we will hear it more in the future. She hasnt popped out any teeth yet, but she has been feeling some pain a couple days a week.

Cute costume, hanging out with the dog and more cereal

What a fun weekend for Isabelle. She got to hang out with her friends Dane and Cash and she went to her cousin Blaynes baptism. To make things even better she celebrated her first halloween and even went trick or treating for the first time (two houses). She is starting to play with the dog a little more and I think Sophie is getting excited about it, the dog will now bring Isabelle a rope or a toy and wait for her to throw it...she will have to wait a little while. We are still working on eating solid food and we are getting better at it. She hasnt popped out a tooth yet but judging by her attitude I think we are close...we hope!

Eating Rice Cereal...Video...

Here is Isabelle's first time eating solid foods...

what a cutie...

Here are a couple recent pics of Isabelle. She is almost 5 months old and really enjoys chewing on things...well anything. We think she has some teeth moving in, she was pretty crabby this weekend. Hopefully they will break through soon and quit causing her so much discomfort. As you can see her hair is still out of control. It sticks straight up most of the time. Hopefully it will lay down once it grows a little more.

Sleeping Beauty

Boy does the time fly. Isabelle is getting so big and she seems to do something new everyday. This week she is really working on her "voice". Thankfully she has traded in screaming and crying for some very adorable coos and goos. She has rolled over several times but doesnt seem very interested in rolling over very often. Next week we hope to start giving her some solid foods, that should make for some very messy pictures....stay tuned...

4 months old!

Isabelle had her 4 month baby appointment last week. She is 25.5 inches long and weighs 16.7 lbs. She is a pretty big baby; she is in the 91st percentile for hieght and 95th percentile for weight. She gets more and more playful everyday.

The elusive baby smile

We have been trying really hard to get a picture of one of Isabelle's smiles. She is smiling all the time, but I cant seem to get a great photo of one. That being said, here are two of my favorite attempts so far...

Isabelle's new toy

Isabelle got a play gym today. She was really excited to start playing in it. Mostly I think she just loves having something new to drool on. As you can see she is a pretty intense little girl and spends most of her time staring at it trying to figure things out.

Hanging out with friends...

Isabelle spent part of the weekend hanging out with her friend Olivia. She still has a cold and isnt sleeping very good at night...oh well, hopefully her little immune system will starting working pretty soon. She is "talking" so much lately. She is pretty much a constant gooo and gaaa machine. She hasnt laughed yet but occasionally she lets out an excited squeel that is incredibly cute.

Saturday, September 13, 2008

Isabelle had her first trip to urgent care today. She seems to have a little virus that is upsetting her tummy a bit. The doctor didnt seem too concerned and she will probably feel better in a couple days. She is starting to enjoy bath time a little more as you can see below...more smiling and less screaming! She is really getting close to rolling over but hasnt pulled it off yet.

Go Vikings

Isabelle is now officially the cutest Vikings fan in our house. She got a new chair this weekend and seems to like sitting up and getting a better view of what is going on around her.
Go vikes...

We are caught up...

Here is a current picture of Isabelle. She is 3 months and one week old. Today she finished her second week of daycare and things seem to be going great. She seems to really enjoy being around the other kids and comes home every day pretty tired. She is sleeping through the night some days and we are very thankful for that. As you can see she is getting very big (around 17 pounds) and her hair seems to stick up a little further every day...

Labor Day BBQ

Isabelle had a great first Labor day. She spent some time hanging out with our
guests and took a nice long nap (during dinner)...

Playing in the jungle

Isabelle's new favorite activity is playing in her jungle. She is getting really good at grabbing things, and of course, trying to put them in her mouth. Sophie is adjusting well to having a little girl in the house, she mostly just wants to hang out and play with her.

Tummy time...

It is hard to believe how fast she is growing. She is already lifting her head and starting to play with that baby in the mirror.

What a cute chick

Isabelle is not real fond of taking baths. She uses the experience as an opportunity to stretch out her vocal cords and really scream. Fortunately she gets tuckered out from all the fussing and provides a really cute photo opportunity....

She is at her cutest when she sleeps

Since we are really skipping thru time I won't bother posting pictures of a fussy, screaming, unhappy baby. Isabelle had a pretty intense case of colic. For two months she wasn't the easiest baby to have around. Except when she was sleeping. When she did manage to sleep we usually took as many pictures as we could...

GOING HOME!

After 5 long days in the hospital we are finally able
to bring our baby home.

Isabelle's first bath

On our last day at the hospital the nursing staff helped Isabelle take her first bath. She screamed, loudly!

Finally hanging out with Mom and Dad

After spending two days in the level 2 nursery Isabelle finally got to come hang out with us in our room. Her favorite activity was sticking her arms up over her head and taking a nap.

Isabelle's first visit with Mommy

After 12 hours of recovery Gina and Isabelle got to meet for the first time outside the operating room.

Isabelle Jerilyn Herman

At 3:20 pm May 29th 2008 after a long labor and longer day (or two) at the hospital Isabelle Jerilyn Herman was born. She weighed 7 lbs 12 ozs and was 19.75 inches long.
